COMMUNIQUE – Contactless Payment Limit Increased to Rs 5,000

MauBank is pleased to inform its valued customers that the daily cumulative limit for contactless (Tap to Pay) transactions has now been increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 * (or equivalent in foreign currency).

The limit per transaction remains at Rs 2500.

This enhancement gives you more flexibility and convenience when making everyday purchases using contactless payments.

 

*Important Information on Usage Conditions

  • For contactless transactions above Rs 2,500, or when the Rs 5,000 daily limit is exceeded, the
    Point of Sale (POS) may prompt for a PIN or decline the transaction, based on the terminal
    settings.
  • These updates apply exclusively to contactless payments and do not impact the overall transaction limit for insert card transactions.
